Step 1: Start from your dog's weight
Look for the weight range in the listing, not just the size name, because "large" can mean a different weight ceiling from one brand to the next. Among the beds on this page, the stated ranges are: the Furhaven Perfect Comfort Sofa up to 95 lbs and the Barker Beds XL 75 to 120 lbs. How Often Should You Replace a Dog Bed?
There is no interval, and anyone quoting one is guessing. Beds fail on use, weight and washing, not on age. What you can do is know what failure looks like before your dog's joints tell you.
The test that decides it
